FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the course.

Payment:

BACS: Payment can be made by BACS. Please phone for details as these can not be put on the website.

Are hard copies of the text available?
Unfortunately not as the printing costs were making the course economically unviable. However a full CD of the course text plus additional background information is included in the price of the seminar.

Are the PowerPoint slides made available?
Yes – these are included as part of the CD of information.

Can I be enrolled on the course and pay later?
Unfortunately this is not possible due to problems in recent years with people failing to attend. We need confirmed bookings to allow us to arrange suitable teaching accommodation and copies of the course material.

Can you issue an invoice to my employer prior to payment?
We have found in the past this leads to problems and suggest you obtain the finance from your employer before enrolling on the course. For the reasons noted above we cannot confirm your enrolement on the course until we receive payment.

Accommodation and Meals

Are Specialist Dietary Requirements Catered For?
Please advise at the time of booking if you have any special dietary needs and we will try and accommodate you.

Is accommodation included in the course fee?
The course fee includes for the two days seminar, light refreshments and lunch during the day and extensive notes. Accommodation is not included but can be arranged directly with the The Scottish Tourist Board

Are evening meals included in the price?
Evening meals are not included in the price. There are however a number of good restaurants, bars and cafes within walking distance of the University accommodation. Check the Eating and Drinking Guide on www.list.co.uk

Course Notes

Can the course notes be purchased separately?
Unfortunately not. The notes and the seminar go hand in hand and we consider that the direct tutoring and discussion is an integral part of the course as a whole. However TGW recommend that students familiarise themselves with the book 'Professional Practice for Landscape Architects' Second Edition, by N Garmory, R Tennant and C Winsch and published by Architectural Press (ISBN 978-0-7506-6902-3). To order this book from Amazon, click here.

The book covers the basics of the two day seminar and is a useful preparation guide to ensure a solid grounding in the subject before attending the course.

Are there any organised study groups?
Due to the Data Protection Act, TGW cannot issue contact details of course delegates. We recommend you liase with fellow students on the course, to organise follow up study groups.

Can I get a refund if I cancel?
Yes, but an administration fee of £65.00 will be applied if cancellations are made within one week of the course date.
